Koyaanisqatsi II -- A Road Trip

shalako kachinaDay 3 We roamed a few casinos -- Circus Circus was still just that. Actually, it really be called Zoo Zoo. Mobs of people everywhere and more noise than the other casinos. It's not that their casinos have more players -- probably they didn't spend the extra money for acoustics. They didn't spend extra money on anything. We had a nice breakfast the Flamingo, but they ripped us off. They offer "Kids Eat ½ Price" but it turns out you have to ask for it before you get the bill for them to take off the discount. One of us ordered English Muffin instead of toast -- no problem, right? Maybe 10¢ or 15¢ extra. They charged for a separate side order. We let them know what a rip it was -- they're making enough money on the gamblers that they shouldn't have to gouge the diners too. We travelled to Caesar's which was fantastic. They carried the Roman theme all through the place, instead of just having a theme facade on the street. Jason bought some "Caesar's Man" cologne and a gold chain.

We got into the car again (!) and went down the road to see the Liberace Museum and check out what true opulence and decadence is like. The costumes, jewelry, furniture and autos were very impressive, but the high point may have been the pterodactyl ladies who seemed to be there on pilgrimage to see their idol's icons. It was all a bit overwhelming really to realize that this wasn't a movie museum but that this guy was for real.
