Koyaanisqatsi II -- A Road Trip
page 25

Stops became harder and weirder while the road became more and more comfortable and compelling. It seemed like it only took a half-hour or so to reach Sacramento and from there we could switch on the auto-pilot. We passed a burning building in Davis and watched lightning flash in the distance. We'd been treated to lightning shows every day for over a week. One final stop for gas and sodas and we flew home in what felt like 15 minutes. We hit Walnut Creek at 3:30am after 17 hours of driving. We came home, went to sleep, and lived to tell about it.

What's at the next exit? We'll take you far.

Of all the places they went, which was the most important?

If you've stayed with us to this point then you hopefully have a good idea of what being on this trip was like -- step by step, day by day, moment to moment, station to station. You also have shown an abnormally high level of perseverance. (Or you're incredibly bored and saw a good chance to kill a couple hours.) Maybe you should have come along with us.
